I can’t fault a single thing—beautiful house, tastefully decorated, and the host was super. There was nothing to dislike.

Staying at Highfield House was an absolute delight! The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the house felt like stepping into a beautiful country manor from another era. Our room was fit for royalty, complete with a magnificent four‑poster bed and canopy. The bathroom was modern, beautifully equipped, and very comfortable. Radiators and heated towel rails kept us wonderfully warm, especially when it was just 4 °C outside. Choosing Highfield House was a big part of what made our visit to Trim memorable. If you want to stay close to Trim Castle, feel like you’re in a period film or historical novel, yet still enjoy all the comforts of a cozy, welcoming home, this is the place to be!

The room was spacious, clean and fully equipped with a kettle, hair dryer, bath products, and a microwave and fridge in a dedicated area that were quite handy. Parking was right in front of the house, and the bus stop was a 5‑minute walk away. The Château de Trim was also a 5‑minute walk, a large park lay directly opposite for strolling, and the LIDL was a 10‑minute walk.

A lovely guest house in a beautiful location. Geraldine was very friendly and helpful, giving lots of information about the local area, telling us what to do and see, where to eat, etc. The only disappointment was that we were only there for one night, but next time we’ll plan for a longer stay.
