The Slowlife lodge was amazing; the staff, especially Chad, welcomed us and kept the common room lively before and after skiing. Chad mixed cocktails, hosted afternoon games, and guided those who wanted to go on day trips like skiing or hot springs, weather permitting. The location was perfect, just a few minutes by car from Hirafu. The only downside was that our room felt a bit cramped for a family of four, though we barely spent any time there.

Chad is a fantastic host who creates a welcoming, friendly vibe. Breakfast each morning was great, and the location is excellent—close to the shuttle bus stop and local eateries. If you prefer a quick trip to town, it’s just a short walk away.

Snowlife Lodge was incredible. Chad, the owner, was so hospitable; he made a mean omelette one day, served a proper Aussie breakfast (bacon, sausages, eggs, toast, hash browns), and let us shower and check out late after a full day on the slopes. He also drove us to the bus stop. Honestly, top‑tier service and the perfect place for skiing or snowboarding. Izumikyo is very close, but returning during heavy blizzards can be a bit of a pain due to visibility and conditions. In normal snowy weather, it’s actually very easy—the bus stop is only about a 3‑minute walk out the front of the curry house. You can use the Niseko United shuttle for free with a lift pass, tap on with a credit card if you’re not skiing (around ¥200 each way), or take the free Niseko Shuttle (yellow/purple line). In regular conditions, transport is super convenient.
