“A good place if you are not exigent”
The hotel sits very close to Transilvania University, which is convenient for work or study trips. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and the AFI mall is only 5 minutes away. Walking to the city center takes about 15‑20 minutes. My room was spacious, with excellent lighting that was handy for evening work or reading. The double bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast offered a variety of fresh vegetables. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. On the downside, there was no heating at first. I kept asking, and on my last day the heating finally turned on, but only the room radiator worked; the bathroom stayed cold. I was told that to get room heating you have to ask explicitly at reception, otherwise the central heating program excludes rooms. The breakfast lady complained that tourists caused her stress and would take long breaks to smoke and drink coffee outside, even while tourists ate. There is only one coffee machine, and each cup is about 50 ml. When another tourist and I asked how to get a larger cup, she snapped, “You have the option with breakfast included, this is the coffee you get for free; if you want more, you have to pay for it!” She seemed rude and aggressive toward some tourists, especially female solo travelers: no smiles, speaking too loudly, quite harsh. It’s a pity because the rest was pretty good, but I’ll think twice about returning.
