The front desk was fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, a real personal touch. The room was superb; after staying at many hotels, we found The Bell getting the basics right, which was a refreshing change. Towels were decent size, mugs for tea were adequate, a proper kettle was provided, and a dressing table in a sensible spot let you sit in front of a mirror and plug in the hairdryer. Simple details, but common sense and crucial in our view. No complaints.

It was the perfect setting for a couples weekend; the room was quiet even with the busy pub below, and there were no issues.

Everything was great – the old building was lovely, the décor superb, and the staff at both the hotel and the pub were really nice. The only downside was that there was no shower.

The room was large and beautiful. The bar and restaurant are excellent. The bathroom was simply a bath with no curtains so quite impractical to shower without making a big mess
