The best thing about Casa da Toura is the views, a real marvel, and the staff who work there—almost like the owners themselves. What I didn’t like was that it feels more like a hostel and it doesn’t have a hostel price. The rooms are very tight, the bathroom is tiny, and the 500 m that supposedly separate it from the center is uphill. It’s expensive compared to what it offers.
“A Casa da Toura is a great place to stay in Pontedeume!”
Paula, the staff member I met, was very friendly and helpful. The instructions to access the property, sent via text message, are clear and easy to follow. Reception staff are available during working hours. Breakfast costs Euro 10 and offers good value. The accommodation sits on the outskirts of central Pontedeume, up the hill and away from any busy roads, so it was very quiet and peaceful. The room and private bathroom are very clean and refurbished to modern standards. The twin room I had was small, but since I was traveling alone, it was fine for just one night.
The location is good. There is no fan, no AC, and the breakfast is very poor and expensive.
The staff are very available. Cleaning needs improvement. The furnishings could use some enhancement; there was no small table, and the blanket supply was nonexistent. Bathroom products and toilet paper were in very small quantities. There is no vending machine for drinks such as coffee or water.
“excelente”
What I liked most was the staff’s attention and the calmness there, and there was nothing I didn’t like.
