The village is peaceful, 22 km from Freiburg, and although it offers nothing else, it’s quiet; the staff are not very pleasant—most Germans in that area don’t speak English, there are many stairs to reach the rooms, our room wasn’t large, and the bathroom was small.

Honestly, nothing about the accommodation appealed to me; there was extreme lack of hygiene, which I documented with photos. It was disgusting. After reporting it we were moved to a new room, which I inspected immediately and found that the area under the bed hadn’t been vacuumed and looked dirty. The owner promised to clean it because we had a scheduled departure. When we returned, the area under the bed had been vacuumed, but the toilet was covered in brown stains as if someone had just used it and not cleaned it. The toilet brush was stuck in its holder and was nasty. There were pubic hairs in the shower. The ventilation in the bathroom didn’t work and there was a water ring outside. A lamp was missing. The curtain almost hit me when I moved it. The blinds hung crookedly in front of the window and didn’t work, as expected. There was a bug in the room. Moreover, the listing said there would be no events at the property, yet on Saturday evening a stand—apparently set up every Saturday right outside the door—was loud until late at night. I documented everything with many pictures, which I can send if needed.

The place was clean and the staff friendly, but the mattresses were bad, the duvet was too thin, the toilet flush was defective, and there was no heating in the bathroom.
