We stayed in a wonderful old building a little down the block from the hotel, where each room had its own theme—ours was the school house. The room was comfortable and fit the old‑town vibe of Hermann. The complimentary buffet breakfast was very good and served in the beautiful old hotel, and the nightly live music on the outdoor patio was quite good. Because the building was older and refurbished, the walls were thin and we could hear our neighbors’ movie.

The location in town is good, but this condo sat just above the Bunkers and Barrels Sports bar, which had live music until 11 pm the four nights we were there, and the sound reverberated up through the floor. To make matters worse, it was across the street from a very loud music venue that played nightly until after 10:00 p.m. Between the two, it was completely overwhelming; we couldn’t even hear the television. The bed was absolutely terrible and collapsed in the middle of the night. We left one night early because the manager was unwilling to address these problems.

The location is good and the rooms are interestingly themed, but the bed was too soft and the pillows were too large and hard.
