1 extra-large double bed and 1 double bed
“Güzel bina, berbat işletme.”
The building is an old palace surrounded by beautiful greenery. If you bring your own food, there’s a huge kitchen with all the necessary equipment and utensils. The garden is nice. The rooms and beds were dirty, but the toilets were clean. The building looks great, yet the management is terrible. The rooms are filthy and neglected. We could only sleep with our shirts over the pillow covers. Even though the rooms have air conditioning, it isn’t working and we had to rely on standing fans, which made us sleep to the noise of two fans all night without proper cooling. We stayed on the top floor, but there was a strong odor of mildew in the room. One of the mattresses was unusable and the metal was rusting, which we complained about. For the second night we were given a lounge at the entrance. The room had no sink or toilet, but we were told the bathroom outside the room was only for our use, so we accepted. Later we discovered that the bathroom and toilet were actually shared with the rooms on the lower floor. We have two daughters and this was an experience we never wanted. The property is far from the center; the nearest metro station is a 16‑minute walk. It’s a nice building in the greenery but the transport is problematic. Also, when you return late at night, opening the door is an issue—you have to wake up the manager.
“Wouldn’t stay again.”
The location is quiet, no overnight traffic could be heard. The furniture is dated and full of stains, the bathroom is old, the furniture is damaged and broken, and the door locks and handles need attention.
“In a nice area away from the centre of London but close enough to an underground station”
In a nice location away from the centre of London but within walking distance to an underground station. Hampstead Heath park is within walking distance along with some nice pubs and restaurants. It felt like an old rich person's house with the various rooms converted to hotel rooms and the breakfast area was the kitchen. The breakfast area felt a little claustrophobic.
“Quirky, good value stay in faded glory in millionaires’ row!”
In one of the most expensive streets in London and possibly the world, it gives you a glimpse into how the other half lives! Kenwood House is within easy walking distance as is East Finchley tube station. I liked the exceptional communal kitchen, very well stocked for making your own breakfast. The staff were very helpful and it was good value for London. The garden area was a pleasant bonus. It must have been an exceptional property at one time but it is looking well past its best – it could be amazing but then so would be the prices. We were a large family group for the weekend but the various rooms ranged from very good to very poor and all quirky – not all in a good way! Some very expensive fittings, including once beautiful carpets, would love a good professional clean.
“Soggiorno ottimo, gestore gentile e disponibile, servizio ottimo dall’accoglienza ai saluti finali! Tornerò sicuramente”
The house is very beautiful and welcoming, kept very clean, with a large kitchen fully equipped. The key box is too low.
