“Would recommend it as a good base for seeing the sights.”
Quirky vibe and a great spot, but there was a fair amount of street noise.

The entire hotel looks stunning, and the Petite Suite is especially lovely with a private patio on the hillside and a snug fireplace. The staff were excellent and went the extra mile to make our stay unforgettable. The breakfast at the White Swan, just two doors down, was pretty good—mostly pastries—but not outstanding; I’d have liked more hot options.

Petit Auberge is a beautifully maintained old building in downtown San Francisco, with a charming French theme. Everyone is friendly and helpful without feeling staged or corporate. Our room had a working fireplace and was clean and well cared for. Breakfast is next door at the White Swan Inn and is excellent, offering cold cereal, granola, yogurts, boiled eggs, OJ, pastries, coffee, and more. They also serve drinks and snacks around 5 PM. We could drop off our luggage for a few hours after checking out. It’s definitely worth a visit. Everything was great in both this stay and our previous one.

The hotel is fantastic and the location is superb—10/10. I’ll definitely return if I’m in SF again. The breakfast at the other hotel was a little letdown, but at least it was free. Honestly, there’s nothing I didn’t like; the hotel was great!

The private suite has an independent entrance and is very well finished, even featuring a fireplace that guests can use. The mattress is very high and surprisingly affordable, a rarity in my travels. The outdoor patio is very nice and can be used to enjoy some private outdoor time.
