Ritu homestay sits just five minutes from the main road, and the place feels somewhat new, though not as glossy as the pictures show. The room had a double bed, a sofa bed, and a modern, average bathroom. The owner offered free transport to the train station. Our flight landed around midnight, but by the time we stepped out it was already past midnight. The address provided by Ritu Capitol Homestay was fully booked, and the caretaker didn’t even answer when we knocked. Despite repeated calls to the number listed, nobody responded, leaving us stranded without accommodation. With the help of an auto driver, the owner finally answered and sent the caretaker to escort us to another homestay—an unnecessary hassle. I avoided the kitchen because I saw many cockroaches at night. Room 5 was right next to another room, and the bathroom lights reflected into our room; we could hear the neighbors’ voices crystal‑clear. No restaurants were nearby, so we walked 20–30 minutes to find decent breakfast. The place only accepted Google Pay or cash; no credit card was accepted, so be prepared.

The place was very clean, the kitchen was great, and I felt right at home.

Everything was nice: the room size, the facilities, the parking, the cleanliness. We especially liked having a full kitchen so we could cook whatever we wanted.

The worst experience ever: I traveled from Bangalore to this place, only to discover that the house I had booked for two nights had been given to someone else, leaving my family stranded after a long drive. The manager, knowing we were from another state, ignored us, abused us, and said nothing could be done except to take the room they offered or leave. We had to go to the police station to get our booking cancelled without any charges for their mistake. The manager and his colleague behaved greedily and unruly. The photos in the app were very different from reality; the rooms looked and finished far worse. Beware of managers who try to take advantage of out‑of‑state guests, assuming they can get away because there’s no local support. In my case, the local police were very helpful in resolving the situation after we informed them.
