The front desk was very friendly, kind, and helpful. Though not the highest‑rated hotel we’ve stayed at, its proximity to Redwood National Parks was great. We booked last minute and were relieved to find a hotel that met our needs. We wanted a cozy room with a comfy bed, a mini‑fridge, a microwave, and a nice hot shower. Each day we rose early, explored, hiked, and biked the Redwoods, returned late, and just needed a place to rest. We had no trouble bringing our bikes in at night, so safety wasn’t an issue. We’d definitely return. We knew this wasn’t a brand‑new hotel and expected dated furnishings, which didn’t bother us since we didn’t spend much time in the room. If you’re after a brand‑new, sleek, or chic hotel, this isn’t for you. If you’re okay with basics, vintage, well‑worn but solid, this place works. We booked last minute while driving from Washington to the Redwoods, so we were happy to find a comfortable spot.

It’s reasonably priced compared to other nearby lodging. It’s not far from Danny’s and Paragon coffeehouse; Paragon is popular and gets crowded early, but it’s within walking distance. The room stayed warm, which was nice since the evenings on the coast were cold. The hotel is pretty old, and we couldn’t check in before 2 pm. The bed was stiff and uncomfortable. The room was right behind the Taco Bell drive‑through, so I could hear everyone’s orders. The online photos look nothing like the actual room.

I didn’t try breakfast because I stumbled onto this place after a confusing listing. The front desk staff was sympathetic but couldn’t help once I had already paid. The room was clean and slept well. The only issue was the bathroom door that wouldn’t close because it was misaligned.

The room was a good size, but if you’re tall, watch out for the very low shower head. The lighting in the room isn’t great, and we had to ask for a $100 deposit that’s now hard to get back.
