The ambience, cleanliness, and garage are great. The coffee machine was not working.
The place was very convenient, spotless, and the breakfast was good—ideal for a brief business visit. The only downside was the old‑fashioned furniture and the overall look of the rooms.
The receptionist seemed a bit arrogant, though she might have had a bad day. We were there from Thursday to Monday in August 2026. The buffet breakfast was adequate for Balkan guests but not great for coffee lovers; the coffee tasted like syrup plus milk powder, so we brought our own green tea bags. The staff seemed to be a vacation cover team, everything felt improvised, yet the gentlemen tried their best. The buffet was cleared just before 10 am, but you could still stay seated. The breakfast room was small but workable, and no one had to wait. I’d recommend arriving early so the buffet isn’t empty; sometimes it’s only refilled after a while. We arrived just after 9 am and many items were already gone. Cups ran out daily, and you had to ask for one—something I’ve never seen in any other hotel. The men had to use the elevator to fetch supplies. The breakfast room isn’t connected to the kitchen. The hotel has two restaurants: a traditional one and a modern white‑themed one with calm background music. After we arrived on Thursday evening, we ate at the modern “SO” restaurant in front of the building. The service and food were very good, the wine was also good, and the staff were nicely dressed. The background music was pleasant, relaxed, and at a good volume. However, a small band started playing loud “lifemusik”—so loud it felt like a wedding—and it kept playing until after midnight. This happened on subsequent nights, with different bands. The windows are sound‑proofed because of the street, but the music was still audible. We had a room directly above the restaurant on the third floor; that didn’t bother some, but it did bother us. As a result, we didn’t sleep well for the four nights. The double room is small, and I doubt the square footage listed on Booking is accurate. My husband brought his own mat for morning exercise, and he had to do it right in front of the toilet door. The shower head (a cheap model) had black stains on the nozzles and should have been replaced. Other than crooked bedside lamps, the room seemed fine. Every evening it was a gamble whether we’d get a parking spot. As soon as the restaurant opened, it became impossible to find a spot in front of the building. In August it was very hot, and people wanted to spend time on the restaurant’s terrace. The underground garage is partially reserved for hotel guests, but there are only a few spots. Again, I’d advise arriving early. The parking situation was very stressful. We’ve experienced far worse hotels in Banja Luka, so I might book this hotel again outside the summer months, but the parking issue will probably stay the same. The hotel’s main focus is clearly the two restaurants; if that doesn’t bother you, you’ll be well taken care of.
I was on a business trip, and everything from the location to the food selection, the staff, and the parking was spot‑on.
“Decent stay”
The hotel sits in a great, central spot and the rooms are decent. The elevator, however, was odd; it was usually occupied by cleaning staff during our stay and wouldn’t stop when we waited. For the same price, I think Courtyard by Marriott, just behind this hotel, offers better value.
