“Kein Aufenthalt - wurden ver*****”
We rode our bikes to what turned out to be a ghost‑hotel. No one was there when we arrived. The lawn in front of the hotel was kept tidy by a robotic mower, and there was some décor outside the door. The building was abandoned, locked, and what could be seen through the windows was an unused office space; the breakfast room had been unused for a long time, and the terrace was overrun with weeds. A phone number was posted on the door, and when we called, we were told that our room had just been assigned to someone else by a colleague. We could have gone 8 km further to find a room in another hotel, but that would have cost more. When I asked why my booked room had been given away, I was told that the reservation hadn’t been forwarded until then. Everything was a sham and a lie! We found another hotel on our own, and there we learned that the Hydepark Hotel has not taken guests for years. The owner told us that a year ago she had taken over a whole wedding party there, and they also stood in front of a closed door. The pictures on the portal are fake; there is no beer garden, no cozy bar, no restaurant. I don’t understand how this place is still listed. The customer‑service chat with Booking was ended without any response. I’m deeply disappointed! It was especially bitter for us because we were cycling and couldn’t just pedal a few more kilometers to another accommodation.
