Hotel Kaufmann, located in Roßhaupten, shines in new brilliance after extensive renovation and expansion work. Nestled in the unspoiled nature of the Allgäu region at Lake Forggensee, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding alpine landscape. Traditional materials and loving detail work transformed the hotel into an architectural jewel, featuring full-style country house rooms and a beautiful wellness area.

How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
The calm, view, pool area, and saunas create a beautiful, relaxing setting that makes you want to return; the restaurant was excellent and we ate well. We would have liked the saunas to be open in the mornings as well as afternoons so we could use them before departure, and we felt a bit rushed at meals (no time to grab cheese at the buffet, dessert arrived too quickly).

Luxury and family‑friendly vibes combined, great breakfast and high‑end dinners, very friendly staff—we’re already looking forward to our fourth visit after three trips. Absolutely no complaints at all.

The staff were extremely friendly, the food was a dream, and the room was just as comfortable—no noise from the neighboring room, not even a toilet flush, and the view was fantastic! We couldn't find anything we didn't like, only that the wellness area closes relatively early; we would have loved to swim after dinner as well.

The Deluxe room was spacious with plenty of storage, a roomy bathroom, and a very nice large balcony that was well separated from the neighboring rooms. The dinner in half board was excellent, all dishes could be ordered lactose‑free, thanks to the chefs. The menu selection was large, the product quality very good, the preparation refined and the food delicious. Breakfast and dinner could also be taken without problems on the wonderful terrace. The wellness area was tastefully designed throughout, with ample quiet zones and a great pool house. The staff were overall very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, especially as a prime starting point for bike tours (bike storage available). The only downside was that the full lighting in the restaurant where we dined felt a bit lacking in coziness, and our Deluxe room unfortunately had carpeted flooring.

The pool was a highlight. The large windows faced the outside without air conditioning, and shade was only provided by a retractable awning that also closed automatically. The hallway door blocked the room door, and meals had to be selected in the morning. From the outside it didn't look very appealing.
