The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, but the shower was lacking.

We were told our reservation was cancelled the day before check‑in because the hotel claimed they had no record of our booking and the room was already fully occupied.

The staff were genuinely friendly and made an effort, but the building felt run‑down despite its upscale location in PMB. A visitor who overstayed in the pool area got drunk, swore, and fell, injuring himself; Isaac, the manager, was aware of the incident. My all‑female family and I found the windows wouldn’t close, mice or rats in the ceiling, a stale smoke smell, and dusty, musty carpets. We overheard an argument when another guest arrived, who had his booking cancelled without notice. Safety was a concern with several intoxicated men around. My reservation was for five people, yet the room was too small; they offered an alternative but charged me an extra R150. The windows still wouldn’t close.

Everything was great, except there was no Wi‑Fi.
