Nothing. Bedding was infested with bedbugs everywhere, the place was very dirty, and the staff seemed dubious.

Absolutely nothing, the place is a shit house. We got a towel with a dead cockroach inside. After that, an employee who was showing us around the property the night before came to us asking for 30 manat. He said he’d give the money back and we assumed he was the employee the hostel would be responsible for. Unfortunately he took money from us and other guests as well and ran away. The owner/manager took no ownership of the incident, saying that the police had been informed, but we didn’t see any police or any proof of a report being filed. We had to leave for our flight, so we didn’t follow up on the complaint. Just a warning for future travellers!

I had a night flight. I booked, received a confirmation, landed in Baku, went to a hostel, and they told me “no free rooms, your booking was given to someone else, wait until 2 p.m. if someone leaves we’ll let you in” (time 3:40 a.m.). When I said “I have a confirmed booking with you”, they just muttered something incoherent and that was it. Don’t book here if you don’t want to arrive in Baku late at night and end up on the street.
