The location was great, shops, bars and cafés were just nearby. Seaview and island hopping were also close to the property. Everything went well overall, except that my necklace went missing from our room after housekeeping cleaned it. As guests, we should be able to trust that anyone entering our room is trustworthy and will respect our personal belongings. Requesting room cleaning should never make us feel anxious or afraid that something might be stolen. We should be able to leave our belongings in our room with the confidence that they will remain safe. I have also been working in the hotel industry in Helsinki for seven years, and we have never experienced a case of housekeeping staff stealing guests’ belongings during mid‑stay cleaning. If such an incident is confirmed, it should be taken seriously and appropriate disciplinary action should be taken. It is very disappointing that this happened, as guests should always feel safe and secure in the hotel they choose to stay in.
