“Really enjoyed the 3 night stay but did not enjoy the road to lodge. Highly recommended”
The setting is an amazing, relaxing environment with beautiful views, but a word of caution: the road to the lodge requires an SUV.

I love the rustic vibe, the mountain setting, the fantastic view, the quietness, the awesome fires in the fire pit, and the paraffin lamps burning in the evening.

The location and solitude are glorious, the fresh air and peacefulness are soul‑soothing, the water comes straight from a mountain spring and is so good it’s worth taking home, the swimming holes (not really a pool) are wonderful in the heat of the day, you can hike anywhere you want if you’re capable, and the scenery never quits; the drive up is barely manageable in a small passenger car—took us an hour to cover the 7 km from the main road, which was stressful; the farm tracks are easy, but the river crossings with flowing water can be impassable during high water, the jeep trail above the first crossing gets rocky and narrow, so it’s best tackled in an SUV or 4x4 “backie”; we were surprised by this, so we’re offering the info as a heads‑up; it’s basically camping—the cabin has no heat, the kitchen’s two‑burner hob had one burner not working properly so we cooked most of our meals on the campfire, the host (Andre) supplied firewood as needed with kindling easily foraged from the undergrowth, the fridge wasn’t working so the host gave us a cooler and frozen water bottles with a freezer 50 m away in the “BeachBar”; all equipment, bedding (which was wonderful), cookware (cast iron Dutch oven too!), etc. are there but bring *all* supplies you will need since going to town is a major undertaking; we discussed all these things with the host and he’s addressing what is addressable; he was very helpful in accommodating where we weren’t prepared; bottom line—absolutely worth the effort.

A relaxed glamping experience, even though it rained hard; we stayed dry under the roof and plan to come back for another visit.

A true gem far from the bustling city, a slice of paradise that felt like the beginning of something special. No complaints.
