I was turned away after the check‑in window had opened, with the staff claiming my card had been declined and my reservation cancelled—though I had never been asked to prepay. They offered me an extra 40 USD to stay, but the room was already handed over to another guest. The place looked awful and was surrounded by shady characters. I found a better hotel nearby and would advise anyone to stay away.

The room was spotless and the AC was a lifesaver on a 99‑degree day in Merced. They stocked plenty of soap, shampoo, and other essentials. Unfortunately, the coffee maker was broken, so I missed my morning brew, and it was too early to bother the staff at 5:00 a.m.
