“Excellent little hotel in old Khiva”

The hotel is brand‑new and impeccably clean, located in the old city near the walls and easily reachable by taxi; it’s only a few minutes’ walk to the center of old Khiva. The staff were attentive, the breakfast had a good selection, and we were very happy with our stay. Our room on the second floor even had a small balcony overlooking the city walls.

“Lasciate perdere, c’è sicuramente di meglio”

La posizione e la pulizia della stanza, anche se non sono venuti a pulirla durante il nostro soggiorno. Partiamo malissimo dicendo che appena abbiamo prenotato l’hotel (e parliamo di mesi prima) ho subito scritto alla struttura chiedendo un taxi dall’hotel all’aeroporto di urgench; la mia richiesta è stata accolta. Arrivati a Khiva, sapendo di avere l’aereo molto presto la mattina e quindi di dover essere in aeroporto alle 5:30 am, ci siamo accertati diverse volte che l’hotel ci avesse prenotato il taxi per la mattina della partenza. Addirittura ho scritto in uzbeko per accertarmene e ci è sempre stato detto che il taxi era prenotato e addirittura l’importo che avremmo dovuto pagare al tassista. La mattina della partenza, scendiamo in reception alle 4.30 am e indovinate un po? Il receptionist se ne esce con “il vostro taxi sta arrivando?” Quindi non solo nostro taxi non era stato prenotato, ma il ragazzo nemmeno sapeva che avremmo dovuto avere un taxi per l’aeroporto prenotato da loro. Si è giustificato dicendo che lavorava lì solo da due giorni e che non era stato informato dal suo superiore. Ovviamente ci siamo arrabbiati e abbiamo dovuto cercare un taxi da soli che per culo abbiamo trovato, essendo molto presto. Aggiungo anche che il proprietario non parla una parola di inglese, i receptionist invece si, ma a quanto pare non capiscono niente… follia. La stanza è bella, i letti sono duri come il marmo ma per due notti si dorme. La doccia funzionava solo in parte, il lavandino del bagno era minuscolo, la colazione scarsa, ma soprattutto mancano delle tende oscuranti nella finestra

The location is good and convenient, and the staff try hard and are friendly—this is noticeable. On the top floor there’s an open veranda that’s pleasant to watch the sunset from in the evening; it would be great if they organized a restaurant there or at least a small café. The downside is the breakfast, which feels weak, about 4 out of 10 in my opinion; I’d like more options and better quality. Also there’s no way to pay for the stay with a credit card at the terminal, which isn’t very convenient for tourists. Overall, the hotel is developing and the staff are trying; everything is ahead of you! I wish you success and further development—this place is excellent for that.

The hotel is wonderful in the heart of Old Khiva, right inside the Ichan‑Kaly fortress walls. Stepping out, you’re immediately surrounded by amazing ancient Khiva monuments. For me that was a major advantage: no need to travel, the old town starts right at the door. The hotel itself feels cozy, as if it was created with love and attention to detail. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and have everything needed for a full rest after long walks around Khiva. A special pleasure is the huge terrace on the third floor, offering stunning views of roofs, minarets, and old Khiva. It’s especially beautiful to just sit there and watch the city—it’s a unique atmosphere. But most of all I want to thank the staff. They’re very attentive, friendly, and genuinely hospitable. They immediately helped me find a great guide for Khiva, constantly asked if I was okay and if I needed anything. On the day of departure I had to leave for Urgench airport very early in the morning. They had prepared a lunch box for me in advance, arranged a taxi, and helped organize airport transfer. Thank you very much to the whole Turon Khiva staff for caring, hospitality, and warm attitude! Thanks to you my days in Khiva were even more pleasant. I gladly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants not just to see Khiva but to live inside its history. ❤️
