Spotlessly clean with friendly staff, but they don’t take credit cards—most places in Mbale don’t either, so bring cash; Ugandan ATMs charge a 7–11 % fee, and power cuts are common. Palm Suites has backup generators like most good hotels, but until power returns, there’s no A/C and cooking must be done on a supplied gas stove.

The place is nice, with good security, parking, cleanliness, and a quiet spot, though a few hiccups popped up. We were exhausted when we arrived, and the staff seemed unaware or unclear that a booking existed, asking unnecessary questions and breaking communication.
