The lodge is pretty, with a lovely common area, and the rooms are decent but could use improvements. The breakfast is tasty, offering the typical variety found in Buzios. The biggest issue was a guest claiming that someone stole from their suitcase, which made our stay feel more uncomfortable; we’re not sure if that really happened, but it left a strange impression. Many things could be improved—bed, pillows, and the bathroom that was a bit leaky.

The truth is, as I will explain in the next paragraph, nothing stood out; everything was clouded by what I had to say about the ROBBERY I suffered. The stay was lamentable; the inn is nice, but be careful because the staff’s response is PATETIC. I WAS STOLEN!!! Someone entered my room, broke a lockbox and stole all our money. The problem was not just that, but the manager and director’s reply that they didn’t believe us, HORRIBLE!!! They wouldn’t show us the security cameras or the room entry logs, they took no responsibility and gave us no updates on the internal investigation that the establishment should conduct after such a GRAVE incident. We filed a police report, but the place should have offered support to its guests, and the reality was that they wanted to push us out of the property prioritizing money and keeping the rest of the passengers unaware. This is my first negative rating on Booking for a place; I’ve never had something like this before, but if you’re going to this place think twice, because anything can happen and no one helps. It’s the worst experience I’ve had in Brazil (a country we love) after 10 years of vacations. Zero empathy from the hotel’s staff; I was on vacation and left sad and bitter with my family, not because of the money itself, but because of the response from the hotel’s director and managers, who only spoke to me through security personnel, treating me like a criminal when we suffered the ROBBERY. The safe only holds cash, not medium-sized wallets or document holders; it’s not normal for a hotel and it’s keyed (and anyone can have a copy). Terrible, at this point in the years you should have a digital lock with your own key, so I decided to put it in a lockbox, which was breached and broken. More than two days passed and I still have no answer. DO NOT GO!! or be very careful.
