A cheap bus to Ueno was available. The subway station, Ienai, was far away. A bus would have been better.

You could drop off luggage early, even after checking out, and keep it until 5 pm for free. The building has an elevator, so no need to carry it up and down—my room was on the lower floor, so that was a nice convenience. The front desk staff spoke Chinese during the night shift and were very good; the daytime staff were also friendly. Overall, the place was clean and decent. The only issue was that if your suitcase was too large, the bottom storage space might not fit it, and the washbasin was cramped. Europeans talked quite loudly, and everyone’s footsteps were noisy, regardless of ethnicity. There were only four washing machines and dryers, so when the typhoon hit, you might have to wait a bit. I also saw a Japanese guest throw shoes into a dryer—gross. There’s a shoe locker, but because I’m short, if it’s on the top floor, it’s hard to reach.

The women’s shared bedroom was spotless and cozy, with everything you’d need and even a lockable shoe locker that fit my laptop perfectly. The staff were super helpful and friendly, but the common room on the 5th floor—used as a kitchen and shared space—felt a little tight at times.

The dryer didn’t work, leaving my clothes wet, so I had to pay twice to take them somewhere else to dry.

The staff were kind and attentive, and the shower room was clean and beautiful. Even though it was late, I managed to book a room that day, which was a relief. The rates were reasonable and appreciated by ordinary folks. It would have been even more convenient if there were vending machines inside the building, and I felt the station was a bit far, probably because I’m not used to the area.
