This apartment is right by Praça da República, which made getting around a breeze, and the kitchen had all the gear you could want. The air‑conditioning was a lifesaver in Belém’s “Amazonian winter,” and despite the historic centre’s sketchy vibe the building felt fairly secure. The only downside was the shower – it could use a bit of work.

The house was clean and comfortable, and the host was genuinely friendly and ready to help whenever I needed something. The only thing that bothered me was a strong trash odor coming from the outside area.
