The old house was charming, the owner was friendly and offered good tips, and it was especially reassuring that the bike had a secure lock in the vestibule. The kitchen equipment was very lacking—no cups, no plates, but there was a decent kettle.

The room was wonderful, essentially a separate apartment in the heart of old Erfurt, a house with centuries of history that sparks the imagination while offering all modern comforts, including Wi‑Fi. It’s on the first floor, so even in the heat it stayed cool. The private bathroom doubles as a kitchen with a small fridge and kettle; the toilet is separate, outside the room, but it was ours alone. The host was welcoming and showed us everything. A tram stop is literally around the corner, trams run every 5 minutes, and the station is quick and easy to reach, even on foot. The entire old centre starts right outside the door. Erfurt is stunning, atmospheric, a real fairy tale—everything pleased us. The only wish was to add a microwave and a bit more cookware to the “kitchen”; that would have made it a full apartment for a longer stay.

In the double room Marianne there’s a “kitchen‑bath” attached, essentially a kitchen cabinet in the bathroom with a mini fridge, kettle, and dining table. There’s cutlery and a breakfast tray, but no other dishes—having a cereal bowl and plate would have been perfect. The reception was very friendly and there were cats wandering around the house. The bed was comfortable and the linens smelled nice. I appreciated that I could check out until 14:00. The hallway toilet didn’t bother me. The corner shower is really only suitable for slim people! The description mentioned a courtyard view, but that’s from the bathroom. The bedroom faces the street, and with the window open you hear everyone on the ground floor passing by, though the little street was fairly quiet.

Good tram connection to the old town. The ground‑floor room is pleasant, with just a staircase up before the front door. The bedroom is separate from the small kitchen, which is equipped with a fridge, kettle, cutlery, cup, and glass. The toilet is outside the room, and the built‑in shower is too narrow for heavier people.

I got in late, but everything else was fine; the bathroom was not in the room, yet it was right on the hallway, just for us, though a bit cold.
