Maison Borella, in Milan's Porta Ticinese quarter, is situated on the Naviglio Grande canal. This 18th-century hotel offers free internet, a restaurant, and elegantly decorated rooms with satellite LCD TV, air conditioning, and soft bathrobes. A buffet breakfast with homemade cakes and a modern lounge area with bar complete the amenities, 600 metres from Porta Genova Metro.

The location, the renovated old building, and the breakfast were all great.

The old building is well preserved and the location in a lively neighborhood—Navigli—makes it a nice place to stay, and the breakfast was excellent. However, the hotel directed me to the Garden restaurant (Bugande) as requested, but the waiter didn’t recognize the reservation—despite the booking being confirmed—and was rude, tossing the menu on the counter. We ended up eating at another available spot. It was either a hotel or restaurant mistake, but the waiter’s behavior was outrageous.

The location was perfect for anyone wanting to stay in the Banbili area, the room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, and breakfast was very nice. Our room faced a canal and a street yet remained quiet, and they had good clothing options.

I loved the breakfast and the administrator was very attentive; when my child fell ill he brought tea and helped move our luggage, which felt heartfelt rather than just duty. The only downside was that the breakfast selection could have been a bit larger.
