I wouldn't return, uncomfortable, and at night the stairs to the room can make you fall because they're not fully lit.

I stayed in a tiny loft on a backstreet just off the main drag, with four mini‑apartments perched on the flat roof of a single‑storey building. The only way in was an external staircase, and each room opened onto a walled roof corridor. No staff were needed; I got a text with my room number and a door code, and a noticeboard at the stairwell listed a cellphone number for any issues. The room came fully equipped with heating, air‑conditioning, a fridge, and even a microwave, washing machine, and a set of plates and cutlery that I appreciated. Postcards of Paris decorated the walls, giving the place a thoughtful touch. It was a five‑minute walk to the river and a short stroll to restaurants, cafés, and the night market, and the bus station was easy to reach on foot. A taxi or bus from the train station was necessary, as is typical in Danyang. I was there for the marathon, and while I’d have paid extra for a late checkout if it had been offered, everything else was fine. I’d strongly recommend this spot.
