“It was clean, comfortable and close to the cruise port.”
The hotel is just a stone’s throw from the port, and there are plenty of food spots nearby; Starbucks is on the premises. Breakfast was included but the selection was limited—because I’m allergic to peppers I couldn’t eat the egg‑white omelette, though the waffle station and other items were available.
“A little disappointed with room. Took 45 mins to pick us up from port even though I called and she said call back when I”
The location is convenient for port access. However, the hotel was undergoing construction that wasn’t mentioned in the listing. My corner room had extremely dirty windows that blocked the view, and some curtains wouldn’t open or close properly. Since there were two hotels combined, I would have chosen the other one; the description didn’t match the reality.
“My stay left me feeling hurt and dismissed because I was spoken to rudely by staff on two different days.”
I liked that the hotel was close to the cruise terminal. On the 16th of August I experienced two disappointing customer‑service incidents: the first staff member didn’t greet me and spoke rudely, as if she didn’t want to help, and the next day another employee treated me the same way. It was upsetting to see polite service given to others while I was spoken to dismissively; I hope management addresses this so all guests are treated with respect.
“Exactly what you’d expect from a Hampton Inn, (just $$$ downtown parking garage next door.)”
Checking in Saturday evening was handled quickly by a Caucasian male clerk, probably around 45 with light brown hair. The breakfast bar featured Belgium waffles. Parking in the adjacent garage cost $35 plus tax, totaling $41 or more, which was a real disappointment.
“It was not the best Hampton Inn that I have used. But the friendly staff makes up for any negative.”
The staff were notably friendly and helpful, and a grab rail in the shower was a nice touch. I appreciated the generous amount of clear window space in the room, but the breakfast was terrible.
