“Great stay in a picturesque setting”

Cartmel is lovely and this place sits right in the middle of it, which is great. The room was larger than I expected and quite comfortable, and the central heating kept it really toasty at night; I also appreciated the electric towel rack in the bathroom. For an old building, it’s really well kept! The staff were busy—since they also run the pub downstairs—but they were super friendly and attentive to guests. The swing doors in the pub downstairs kept banging, making the whole room shake, so I’d advise revising them to soften the landing. The pub closed early, so it wasn’t a huge issue after 10 pm. Breakfast was really nice but ended early at 9:30 am; it could be longer, at least on weekends.

I enjoyed my stay here; it’s a lovely pub centrally located in the village. The staff were friendly and the breakfast decent. The bed was not level, which made it uncomfortable.
