The food was great and well prepared.

The resort sits close to the fishing spot, so you’ll find plenty of fish options in the food or as gifts in the stores. It’s a spa resort with a pool, mineral soak, and hot tub, all of high quality. The e‑bike rides to the dam were great too, and the short hiking trails nearby offer a nice lookout.

This was our first stay at Bonneville Hot Springs Resort and Spa, and we loved it. The inner courtyard feels magical, complete with its own streams flowing through it. The indoor pool is large enough for laps, and the outdoor hot tub maintains a pleasant temperature—not too hot. Wi‑Fi is fast, and the in‑room TV service has almost all the apps we needed to stream our shows. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and we could easily adjust the room temperature for both day and night. Everything was very clean. The in‑room mini refrigerator was a bit small, but we fit everything we needed for our four‑day stay into it. The atrium off the lobby is absolutely amazing, with three‑story‑high windows, a beautiful rock chimney, and a cozy gas fire beneath. The couches and chairs are very comfortable. It’s quiet and relaxing, the perfect spot to sit and read a book. There are three trails leading into the national forest from the property. A couple of them go up to the PCT and have more elevation than I was willing to tackle on this trip. The new Greenleaf Creek Loop Trail is a nice loop with not too much elevation. We hope to stay here again soon.

The hotel was on the pricier side, even though it heavily advertises natural hot springs in pools. It felt more like a hot‑tub experience than a gym. The rooms were still very clean; we booked one room with a hot tub to share with the two other rooms we had booked, which definitely fits six people. The water was clean and warm upon entry. On a side note, even though we checked in early, the process was messy. We were told the room was ready and that the three rooms we booked, along with their key cards, would have access to them. When we opened one of the rooms to drop off luggage, people were already inside. They came out and said they were concerned we had access to their room, and we had to go back downstairs and change rooms. I’ve never had this happen to me. There isn’t much else to do at the resort besides that, so our family went hiking at Beacon Rock. The hike itself is only about an hour, 30 minutes up, 10 minutes at the top, and 20 minutes down. It’s a 360° view around this big boulder, and it is so beautiful. Later that night, we wanted to dine at the resort restaurant. I thought we could just be seated, but I was told another big party was seated just in front of us, so to help the kitchen catch up, we had to get on a waitlist and come 45 minutes later. After finally being seated at 8 PM, there were only two servers and service was really slow. It also took another 40 minutes for the food to arrive, and it was horrible. The chicken was just a chicken thigh, overcooked and bland. They said the steak was cooked at medium rare to prevent it from being too chewy, but because it was so raw, it ended up being chewy anyway. We paid $250 for food we only ate because we were starving. Spend your money elsewhere in terms of food. You can stay the night here.
