The rooms were spacious, clean, and quiet, with marble floors and common areas cleaned daily or more; the kitchen was fully equipped with gas, a fridge, a microwave, and utensils; the water filtration system was good, free water had good pressure, and the low‑volume shower heads and water heaters were typical; hand soap and paper were provided, and an extra outside bathroom helped; the roof was a good spot to sunbathe, wash hands, dry clothes, have a beer, chill, and view the volcano; some older folks stay here longer, and younger folks too, of course; the hotel is a 1 km walk from the launches and ferry, and a 10 min walk up a gentle incline from the center of the small town; San Marco is small and touristy, full of new‑age, hippy, Mayan, eastern, ancient or modern traditions, therapies, practices; a 20‑minute boat ride from Pana costs 25 quetzals (under $4).

The stay was excellent, super comfortable, and Juan Pablo was very friendly; we arrived for a few days and stayed two weeks, highly recommended, and everything was great.
