The staff were friendly. We got to have a dessert at the restaurant that usually serves three‑course meals. The accommodation was charming with a nice farm shop. It would have been nice if they could offer transport to and from the wine festival and/or Kivik’s market, but we managed it ourselves with a taxi.

I woke up to a hearty breakfast and friendly staff who were still on hand that day of departure. They even cooked a warm breakfast for me beyond the lovely buffet, and the little treats—especially the best orange marmalade I’ve tasted—were a nice bonus. The place sits in a calm, beautiful spot right in nature. I had told the hotel that a one‑year‑old would be staying, but they didn’t provide a bassinet, making it hard to sleep at night. It’s odd to accept a toddler but not offer a bassinet. The room was incredibly hot, and all I got was a small, noisy desk fan that kept shutting off. The window mosquito net was broken, so I couldn’t lower it, which meant a lot of flies swarmed in. There was no TV in the room (I didn’t need one, but the rest of my party did).

The place was incredibly friendly, the staff were great, and there was something for everyone. It felt homely and snug.
