We stayed with family for 5 days, and it was truly excellent; we loved Abene and especially Shudyma Lodge, where an amazing, always available, proactive, warm team gave great advice; we also ate very well and the breakfast was top; great location.

Everything was unmatched comfort for the price: a cozy bed, hot water, a spacious room (and especially the pool, staff attentive to every detail—truly a haven of happiness). Nothing negative, except that I’d have to come back for a longer stay because I had only planned a stopover.

Nice breakfast. The bedroom had a mosquito net. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so we had to wait 25 minutes for cleaning.

Abené shuDyma Lodge is an amazing place to stay – just a 5‑minute walk to the beach and close to the main street full of food stalls and vendors. Everyone in the village is unbelievably kind and friendly, and you feel totally safe because everyone knows each other. The beach is full of fishing boats and little bars, but it was quiet at this time of year. The sea is quite rough, yet the ShuDyma lodge pool is gorgeous and perfect for cooling off with a drink while admiring the fruit trees and lovely decor. Apollinaire, the manager, was the most charming and helpful person; he made our trip very special by always helping us with anything we needed, asking what we wanted to eat, ensuring we had delicious food, and always serving freshly caught fish. Everything is super clean, the staff are friendly, calm, and efficient. Our room was tasteful, spacious, and had an extremely comfortable bed. Abene village is very chilled, and there is an amazing life music bar a few minutes' walk away. We also ate many times on the main street where all the restaurants are small and family‑run, offering amazing local dishes at extremely good prices. You can also visit the huge Fromager sacred tree in the village – incredible to see and an easy 10‑minute walk.
