We didn’t have much to say about the hotel’s cleanliness (even though we spotted blood stains on the blanket) or the staff’s friendliness. What we found less pleasing was the lack of price transparency: rates weren’t displayed, and when we saw the final bill we felt a bit cheated. For instance, “desserts” were charged, but we weren’t sure what they covered—were they end‑of‑meal sweets or cocktails we thought were included at arrival? This was especially surprising because in previous guesthouses and hotels we never had such detailed billing; meals were billed as a whole. Another surprise was that I had to book two rooms even though one room clearly accommodates two people, not just one, so I booked two. Yet at arrival there was no receptionist and only one room was shown, even though my reservation was for two rooms. It’s also hard to get explanations on site because no one speaks real English, making it difficult to sort out the double booking and the odd bill items. More transparency on rates, billing, and booking procedures would have been appreciated.
