“Staff amazing… everything else disappointing”
The location was great, but a sign under the tree warning that parking would leave your car covered in bird poop would have been useful—it was awful. Obviously the previous guests had taken everything, so I constantly had to call the absolutely gorgeous girl downstairs who couldn’t do anything more and sorted everything—yet I felt bad because it wasn’t really her job to fix things when she was busy downstairs. Offering breakfast included was a total miss sell; catering for business travellers during the week meant we were out by 9 am, so I felt let down. If it weren’t for the staff I would have asked for a refund.
“Perfect place for your stay in Ashwell”
The stay was perfect in this beautiful village with lovely staff and a very nice breakfast.
Nice place set in a nice village. You get what you pay for, never going to be a 4 star hotel
“We had a lovely weekend in Ashwell. The Three Tuns was very hospitable.”
The room was fine, though a dust around the skylights would have been nice, otherwise everything was good. The meal you prepared for all of us (party of 13) was great—good choices, well cooked and served. Thank you. My wife and I both found breakfast difficult, though; why no cereal with soya milk? Why no cereal with milk and yoghurt? It seemed very limited. The breakfast for a vegan was very limited—basically dry toast, no non‑butter margarine, no marmalade. I’m a vegetarian and had the cheese omelette with toast both days—it was not the greatest omelette in the world. All the meat eaters seemed to enjoy the full English. As I say, not great for non‑meat eaters.
“Ideal location for the dog competition activity we attended next day with our dog.”
Dog friendly. We arrived in a torrential downpour. The staff were brilliant and could not do enough for us. Good dinner and food provided for breakfast. We had to leave early. I sometimes had difficulty with the electronic door locks. Technology is not my strong point
