The property was beautiful and felt very secluded and quiet, which is exactly what we were looking for. WiFi didn’t extend to the beach. During my stay there was an issue with the A/C. I called it in at 8:30am, someone came to the unit promptly at 9am to check it out, and I was informed that the next step would be an HVAC person inspecting it, but I wasn’t kept updated beyond that. I stopped in at the welcome center and inquired in the status around Noon (was told they were sourcing a part from another place on the island), and then I called back at 6pm (they said they’d look into the status) and again just before 8pm (when the office closed). At my 2 evening calls the person I spoke with was surprised to learn the A/C was still out, even though nobody had followed up with me to verify it was working or tell me it was fixed. The person that came to our unit at 8:30pm was great, saw the system start and immediately blow out, and immediately moved us to new rooms which I greatly appreciated, but it took the whole day to get to that point. A/C issues happen, but the communication around it wasn’t great
We stayed in Unit 201 for a week at Palm Cay and had a mostly positive experience. The condo and view was probably the most beautiful I've ever stayed in. Our back porch opened directly onto a sandy beach and pool with gorgeous water views! The condo itself had a modern minimalist style and was very pretty. There were some practical issues with the service and condo; it felt like it was more built to be sold than rented, and renting service was an afterthought. There were no pantry staples in the kitchen like salt, only 2/4 bathrooms had soap at the sink to wash hands, the shower products were very minimal, and there was no hair dryer in the bathrooms. The kitchen appliances were top of the line, but not always practical; a simple microwave would have been more useful than the fancy multi-oven with a confusing interface and a dial that was hard to turn. Also, the kitchen was too minimal; there were no power outlets anywhere near the kitchen counters, so we had to run the toaster from the floor. A few small tweaks would make this place amazing! Finally, the location was pretty remote; there are no restaurants nearby except for the on-site one. We ended up eating there most nights, and ordering take-out on the Kraven app a few times. Definitely rent a car if you stay here
We loved our stay - the property was super clean and luxurious, perfect for our group. Everything was great, no complaints at all - we really enjoyed it.
Palm Cay was the perfect place to celebrate a milestone birthday
“Uncomfortable”
We had a pretty rough stay - they switched our unit to a smaller one than we'd booked, and when we got there, there weren't enough towels for our group of six. The staff seemed to think it was our problem to wash them, which was weird. To make matters worse, the air conditioning wasn't working and it took a few calls to get someone to come and fix it.
