Room with a view of the cathedral. Very tight and difficult to find a car park.

Le Boeuf Couronné, a Chartres hotel, boasts an on-site restaurant and terrace with views of Chartres Cathedral. Light and airy guest rooms, some with cathedral views, offer flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. A continental breakfast and traditional cuisine made from seasonal products are served. Located 300 metres from Chartres Train Station and 3.5 km from Odysée Aquatic Park.

Great breakfast, magnificent location. The bathroom was a bit small, only two hooks for hanging clothes.

The setting. Nothing else.

Excellent location at Place Châtelet with a reserved hotel garage about 200 m away for only €10 per day. Old house in family ownership since 1911. Pretty furnishings. Highlight is the in‑house restaurant and the brasserie with a well‑stocked bar; both have indoor and outdoor seating. Breakfast until 10 am is good for a 3‑star hotel. Very tight lift, staircase without a handrail. The “Deluxe” room turned out to be a standard room (“Classic”) with a “city view” over the restaurant roof onto the side street; presumably quieter than the “Comfort” room with a “view of a landmark” (cathedral) – notice the fine difference on Booking! As a 3‑bedroom, the supposedly large space felt quite full and the bathroom was the smallest on our entire trip (shower curtain, but modern fixtures). Like almost everywhere in northern France, no non‑French TV channels except BBC and CNN. A German channel (RTL) was already unusual.

Comfortable room. Ridiculous and old bathroom.
