The distance from the airport was fine, and the receptionist and yard staff I met were helpful. Unfortunately, the TV didn’t work, there was only one electrical outlet for three people, no refrigerator in the room upon arrival, the balcony door wouldn’t open, the Wi‑Fi was extremely poor, and there was no microwave. Ants and cockroaches were present in the room, so for the price I paid, it was a waste of money.
The location was very good and the staff were super friendly. The only downside was that the internet speed could be better.
“Not what I expected”
I appreciated how the staff were friendly and even tried to call people they knew to arrange a taxi for me. The location was convenient, which is why I chose this hotel, and Port Royal feels safe. I would have liked to try the breakfast, but I was ready to leave. I checked in at night and it wasn’t what I expected. I was told my room was “over there by the building we're looking at,” and I never received a Wi‑Fi password. I was upset to see people smoking by my room (I’m pregnant and have a toddler). Hair was on the bed, sink, and in the shower, and my toddler found a used sock by the nightstand. There was a TV but no cable box or remote, and the room lacked basic amenities like an alarm clock, phone, or TV. The only entertainment was the dogs fighting at midnight, and if you missed that, they were kind enough to do it again at 4 am. I was ready to check out at 2 am but had to wait until 7 am when taxis started coming. The hotel can keep the $448, and I hope they’ll use it to upgrade rooms that feel more like school dorms.
“Buena opción para pocos días.”
We needed to be close to the airport, and this was definitely the best option for that purpose. The pool was beautiful. The only drawback was the beach—it couldn’t be used.
“Great location, very good food, great staff.”
The staff were very friendly and professional, the room was spacious and spotless, the breakfast was good and filling, and the dinner options were solid. The Wi‑Fi was flaky, so we couldn’t stay connected.
