“Hotel Ganer !”
The two churches were a disaster; bells rang every fifteen minutes from 6.15 to 22.00, with 1x, 2x, 3x and very long chimes, so catching up on sleep was impossible. Then around 5.00 a.m. the whole area—other hotels, offices, shops and the town hall—woke us up. The houses are built very close together. The hotel had another building over the street where we stayed on the fourth floor with a view of the back courtyards of the surrounding shops. The room needed renovation and had clear defects. The bed was good. The room had no ceiling lights but many switches 🤔😂😱🤷♂️, so anyone wanting to enter in the dark had to bring their own light source beforehand. That meant walking around the bed where a table lamp was placed; one lamp lit for cuddling, the other left you blind. The few pieces of furniture and the built‑in wardrobe for clothes and suitcases were okay (70s style) and sufficient for a few days. The safe in it wouldn’t open and staff refused to fix it after a complaint. Someone on site tried to enter the PIN but failed. A positive was the built‑in small but functional fridge 👍🥂, which settled that issue. One person received a summer blanket, the other a winter blanket while the temperature was over 26 °C. The air‑conditioner was misplaced; a fan was offered instead 👍. After the complaint and all explanations, because staff didn’t know a blanket for the bed, we got a desired blanket from another room. I don’t know from which country the whole staff comes, but communication was a bit difficult, even though each employee asked the next one what I wanted.
