Staying in this beautiful traditional house was a delight and a privilege. It had every comfort in a beautifully finished and traditionally decorated inn. The staff were extremely helpful and responsive, assisting us with sending and receiving our luggage and welcoming us when we arrived. Overall I can’t recommend this inn more highly—it is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed.

The place was very clean after renovation, compact and practical, and I enjoyed the town house vibe—it was perfect. The location was also great, and it was quiet. I want to use it again. There was no problem! The staff were kind, and I felt at ease from the start.

We weighed a bunch of options for Kyoto and ended up thrilled with our pick. The house itself is gorgeous, with thoughtful design and décor, and the spot is both super convenient—just a short stroll to loads of eateries and shops—and surprisingly quiet. The beds are ultra‑comfortable, the whole place spotless, and the shower/bath area is clean, user‑friendly, and clearly recent. We were a tad worried about the lack of a sofa, but the seating area turned out to be very cozy. The staff were incredibly friendly, offering helpful info, swapping towels and trash, and even handing out water bottles. Exploring the neighborhood was a joy, and grabbing groceries was a breeze. The washer/dryer worked flawlessly and was a major convenience. Highly recommend! The only minor gripe: we’d have liked a rice cooker, but the large pot provided was fine for cooking.

Location was great. Quiet neighborhood. Beautiful details in the space. Very little space to relax or move around. Second bedroom was Japanese style floor mats and had to request to set up. Not enough quality pillows only 2 for all beds total

The house is very pretty and the staff were wonderful. Unfortunately, there is no living area, and the second bedroom is too small for three kids, leaving no comfortable spot to gather in the evenings with family.
