“Romantische, minimalistische Unterkunft, für ein bis zwei Nächte empfehlenswert”
The location is ideal for a cycling holiday. The special concept of the shepherd’s wagon accommodation is refined. It’s suitable for one or two nights to gain a bit of romance from the very minimal living conditions. With good to very good weather, you can sleep with the doors wide open or read, chat, and enjoy a drink on the small wooden terrace beforehand. In rainy weather, we couldn’t imagine it. The showers are on the yard as indicated, giving a camping vibe. There is a ladies’ and a gentlemen’s shower. Self‑supply is limited, meaning that in the shepherd’s wagon there is no way to make a first coffee in the morning; you would need to use a kitchenette in one of the yard buildings, where there is a fridge and a way to prepare food. However, there is no seating there, so you have to carry everything to the wagon. In practice, this is somewhat cumbersome. For fairness, it should be mentioned that there is a covered seating area outside at the yard shop, e.g., for cyclists stopping briefly to recharge, and this seating is closer to the kitchen. Breakfast is not offered on weekdays; we went out for breakfast every morning. The Rövekamp bakery is recommended. A normal breakfast is reasonable in price. Those who absolutely need Wi‑Fi are poorly served in the wagon; the reception is very poor or nonexistent. We need a way, e.g., a small capsule machine, to make the first coffee in the morning. We stayed 4 nights on site, which is too long for us because of the cumbersome self‑supply. The very good weather definitely worked in our favor, allowing us to get supplies outside without having to drive.
