The place is nicely central, the breakfast is good, and the staff are polite and friendly, yet the female shared room needs better cleaning—bathroom hygiene feels too superficial, and the noisy fan makes sleeping impossible.

The place is cheap and right in the middle of everything, which is great. But the first thing you notice is the chilly welcome and the garden that looks like it hasn't been tended in ages. There were no towels, no bathroom carpet, and the sink in the shared bedroom is so close that brushing your teeth wakes everyone up.

The staff at the hostel were super helpful and eager to assist. They also did a fantastic job guiding us on the trails with Diamantina Trip. The volunteers—both guys and gals—were the real stars: friendly, skilled, and just a lot of fun to hang out with.

The kitchen was missing a lot of basic items—no utensils, no plates, no cutlery—so it was a real hassle to cook or eat there.
