“Basic cabins in a caravan park style resort. Nice pool and walks, but not very flexible or clean.”
The best thing at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge was the fabulous Jimmy Creek walk. I really enjoyed the chance to immerse myself in the bush, and there were lots of lovely birds and butterflies to enjoy. A peaceful experience. We also found the staff friendly and helpful. The pool was also good. We had an evening meal there which was good, although I would have preferred to have more options that were GF. Good location away from the hustle and bustle. The room was very basic and not very clean, especially for the price. I found it hard to find out information about the place, such as flexibility with check in (which was a worry as we arrived there just after the check in time, but when we asked if this was OK got no reply). Meal times were very restricted. Breakfast is 6-8am, which is pretty early if you want a more flexible wake up time. Given the room had no kitchen, and the outdoor kitchen was very basic without much stuff, and none of it clean, and the nearest eatery was a long way down a very bumpy road, it would have been good to have more flexibility/options with meals. This place was significantly more expensive than it should have been considering the standard of the living quarters and cleanliness. The 'quilt' on the bed was soiled with no cover, the bathroom vent was caked with grime, and the only cutlery, two teaspoons, included one that was stained and dirty. Also, there was no way to adjust the fan and temp on aircon, which meant it was very unsubtle. The section of dirt road to get there has a lot of corrugations
