The stay was perfect in every way, we would have liked to stay longer! The family was very helpful and warm, cooked wonderfully, and always ready to help; they also organized a safari for us—everything was great and highly recommended! 🫶

The owner Tasty provided a free pick‑up from the bus station, a tasty dinner, and the room was nice.

The Silent River Cottage is incredibly quiet, with rooms just 100 m from the river, making it a stunning spot. The food is delicious, especially the Sri Lankan rice and curry—so many curries with the rice that I couldn't get enough. I highly recommend this place; it’s run by Amila, his wife who cooks, and their two children—great hospitality from the whole family.

I enjoyed a wonderful stay at this guest house in Udawalawe, surrounded by nature and a small river that added a special touch. The family running the place were welcoming, kind, and always ready to help, even organizing my safari smoothly and stress‑free. The setting is beautiful, and the family is warm, friendly, and genuinely caring—felt like home, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Udawalawe.
