The best part of the accommodation is undoubtedly the staff—everyone is super friendly, treats you like family, very affectionate, and always ready to help; we stayed on the day of the earthquake and they didn’t leave us until they found a taxi to the airport; we’re incredibly grateful for their care <3, and the food is amazing at great prices; if we return to Labuan, we’ll definitely stay at Amore again.

The rooms are simple but lovely, with a comfortable bed; the hosts were beautiful and really looked after us; food was good—Jay cooked us some lovely breakfasts (and will make it takeaway if you are leaving early for a tour); they can help with washing, rides to town, etc.; we had an issue with our first room and they sorted us out with another drama fee; the distance to town means a ride needs to be booked (but no hassle to do); lovely areas to sit outside but no sun umbrellas, so it’s too hot to enjoy.

“Heel gastvrij. Mooie kamers met warme douche”

The owners were incredibly kind and helpful; we booked a last‑minute one‑night stay after our flight was cancelled and had to remain an extra day on Flores, and they were very flexible and welcoming. They served a wonderful dinner and breakfast, and the rooms were spotless. However, in one of the two rooms we rented for our family of five, the bathroom emitted an unpleasant musty smell in the morning, which was a real disappointment despite everything else being perfect.
