We were very disappointed with our stay at Garden Hill. The hotel is in a very bad and neglected condition; many things are old, damaged, or broken, giving the impression that no one cares about them long-term and nothing is repaired. The breakfast was also a big let‑down. It is served at a small table right at the entrance, where there are only a few chairs and tables. Often the owners and their acquaintances sit there first, so guests have to wait until they finish before they can sit. The feeling during breakfast was very unpleasant. When you go to get food, it feels like the owner is watching you and checking what you take and how much you eat. It’s not a pleasant or relaxed experience. The breakfast itself is also very modest – only a few kinds of cheese and salami, green and black olives, cucumber, tomato, and fruit. The selection is very limited. Even the coffee is only instant and of very low quality. The staff were unfortunately unpleasant and not very friendly. Overall, the staff and the atmosphere of the hotel left us with a very strange and unpleasant feeling. The only real pluses are the spacious rooms and very good access to public transport. From the hotel it’s relatively easy to get to the city center and the main tourist spots.
