Maquenque Lodge, with its remote location in the middle of nature, is perfect for spotting all kinds of wildlife. The guides Antonio and Jefferson were especially competent and friendly. Living in a treehouse in the rainforest is unique and something everyone should try at least once! The reception and restaurant staff were so incredibly friendly that we never wanted to leave.

Wonderful place. There's a lot of nature around, we lived in the jungle, many wild animals. I highly recommend the cabin in the woods—very interesting experience, but also convenient, with air conditioning, minibar, shower (everything you need).

The treehouse was a dream, and the restaurant with its view of the many birds was simply wonderful. We only had lunch, and the price‑to‑value was okay. The selection was also sufficient. The boat tour to Nicaragua was superb, and the reception staff were very friendly.

The location is quiet, far from mass tourism. From the terrace you can watch so many birds that we think a tour isn’t necessary. We paddled in the lagoon multiple times in canoes and saw a caiman and many turtles. The pool is very refreshing and fresh towels are provided. The food is pricey, but you can also order from the lunch menu in the evening, e.g. burgers, which keeps costs down. In the morning we relaxed walking the lodge trails and saw a kinkajou, howler monkeys, and macaws. The pickup at the parking lot works perfectly; you’re taken to the lodge in a golf cart with your luggage. The staff are very courteous and polite. We had a small bungalow near the reception, which was totally sufficient. A treehouse wasn’t a must for us.

The proximity to nature was breathtaking, and the staff—from the boat captain who drove us to the lodge, to the attendants who cared for our treehouse every day, the restaurant servers, the tour guides, and the front‑desk ladies and gentlemen—were all wonderful, great, warm, and helpful people, making it hard to put into words; if possible I would give them 10 points instead of just five! BIG LOVE AND BIG HIG!🫶😍😘 There was nothing negative.
