“Had a nice quiet break away from everything”
The setting is quiet and natural, with nature everywhere, making for a lovely peaceful getaway, but there were no bed linens or basic crockery and no notice at booking that I needed to bring them (I had a fridge, kettle, and microwave), and only one shower served four pods.
Fishing was good, but there were about 20 dead flies near the door.
It was complete peace.
Nothing shop around there's much better. I wouldn't even give 1 if 0 was an option ⭐ 1 STAR – Extremely disappointing experience – BEWARE OF WHAT YOU THINK YOU ARE BOOKING Our experience with Broom Fisheries was extremely disappointing. In fact, we were so upset and dissatisfied with the accommodation and facilities that we chose not to stay. Please be very careful when reading the reviews. From our experience, the positive reviews appear to relate largely to the fishing and bait shop, which, to be fair, does seem to be well regarded. However, that should not be confused with the quality of the accommodation and facilities. The accommodation was nothing like what we believed we were booking from the advertisement. We found it to be extremely overpriced, outdated and not as described. We also did not have the double bed that was advertised, which was one of the things we specifically expected when making the booking. There was only one toilet on site, and it was a considerable distance from the pod we had booked. We were also not made sufficiently aware when booking that the gates are locked from 8pm until 8am, which is a significant restriction that we feel should be clearly highlighted before customers commit to a booking. We were so disappointed by the condition, facilities and what was actually provided compared with what we believed we had booked that we left rather than stay. What has made the whole situation even worse is the complete lack of customer service since then. We have repeatedly tried to raise our concerns with the property and have received no meaningful response to our complaint. We are still fighting for a refund. Unfortunately, have also been extremely difficult to deal with. Trying to resolve the matter without being able to speak to an actual person has turned what was already a very stressful situation into an absolute nightmare. We are now taking the matter further and intend to report the issue to the relevant ombudsman/consumer complaints process
