“It was a pleasure staying at the Woolhouse, the breakfast was delicious and Paul was the perfect host, we enjoyed our ch”
The room was nicely presented, it had a lovely clean fresh feel and had everything you needed for your stay
“Possibly our favourite B & B ever!”
The spot was right in the city center and the breakfasts were fantastic, with hosts who were both friendly and well‑versed. The room itself was spacious, featuring a dramatic timber ceiling that made the Tudor merchant’s house feel grand. However, there was no light above the sink for shaving, bedside lights were too dim for reading, and it was tricky to find a place to set a tea cup. Still, we really enjoyed the place; these were only minor annoyances unless you stay longer than the two days we did.
“More than an ordinary b&b.”
Our hosts (Paul and Paul) made us feel welcome, comfortable and at home in their lovely house. The accommodation was spacious and provided so much more than a run of the mill bed and breakfast. Woolmarket House is just around the corner from the main square and a short walk to the riverside. Car parking was provided free of charge in a nearby car park which was a bonus. Highly recommend. Nothing to dislike at all. Highly recommended
Beautiful room, more like an apartment with a seating area. Only two bedrooms, so we had breakfast with the other guests. Dropping off luggage on the narrow main road.
We had a wonderful stay with Paul and Paul as hosts—everything was handled with ease. The freshly cooked breakfast was perfect, complemented by continental options, fresh fruit, orange‑apple juice, and more finishing touches. The Woolmarket House itself, with its period features and artwork on display, was a delight. Its location near the high street and market square made the early evening historical tour a must, and the guide’s knowledge was one of the best parts of our visit. Thank you, Paul and Paul, for a superb stay. Nothing was lacking; everything was great.
