“Great location at a reasonable cost”
I loved the decking area, the two separate living rooms, and the secluded setting.
The central location was great—20 to 30 minutes from most attractions like the Eden Project, Padstow, slip‑n‑slides, and several fantastic beaches, and there were supermarkets big and small within easy reach. The lodge itself was very spacious, letting eight of us relax with a great view over a small lake watching ducklings. The on‑site facilities were fantastic: the FlowRider and Aquapark were fun, we also used the pool, and there was a playground, tennis courts, and a pleasant bar/restaurant.
“Nice place but facilities need attention”
The lodge was in a lovely, quiet, and private spot on the site. Unfortunately, the boiler was broken, so there was no hot water for most of the stay. The cooker was missing buttons, so we couldn’t set the clock and had no cooking facilities. A lead was missing from the TV, so it couldn’t be used, and the batteries in the remote control didn’t work. On top of that, the dogs found chocolate under one of the beds in the dog‑friendly bedrooms.
“Not luxury and not clean”
The hot tub and the pool table in upstairs lounge. Spacious lodge. The lodge was gruby and dirty. There was food remnants on kitchen table and chairs (they hadn't been cleaned). The single oven had rusted holes in the base, it is old with buttons missing. This oven should have been replaced at least 12 months earlier. Skirting boards and floor filthy, not been cleaned. (We swept them). The brush from the dustpan was filthy and full of hairs. Most rooms had cobwebs and bugs where ceiling meets walls. Downstairs bathroom. There is a notice asking to put items in bin.(no bin provided in bathroom!). Shaver light not working. Pop up waste only working in one of the two sinks, unfortunately it was the one which had the toilet in front of it. Towel rail bars thick with dust. Shower was good pressure and temperature. The lodge had not been cleaned even to a reasonable standard. At best the beds and fresh towels were complete. The carpeted areas were probably vacuumed and that was about it. Cracked and loose paving slab on way to front door, someone will possibly trip. We contacted the holiday company and they sent a cleaner whilst we were out shopping. No idea what they did. We sent a photo of the rusted out single oven and a disgusting rusty oven tray. A person brought 3 new baking trays. The point is the oven and integrated fridge freezer need urgent replacements. We had to tape up the broken plastic bottle holder in fridge. Loads of ice in freezer as doors not closing to make a seal. Internet was poor especially in downstairs bedrooms. Frequently disconnecting. No information literature or visitors book. I had received an email with information about restaurant etc. Amy (The owner)offered us half of our payment of £1574 to leave after one night. You can make your minds up about what this offer says
“Perfect family holiday”
The lodge’s location was perfect for my social media dancing; aesthetically it was beautiful. It was well stocked with everything we needed for our family, perhaps even over‑stocked so no kid had to scramble for a cup. Communication was fantastic from start to finish, answering all questions very quickly. The beds were very hard, and the resort lacked free things for teenagers, but that didn’t deter us from coming back—the sofas were super comfortable and everything else made up for the hard beds and teens’ occasional moaning before they remembered the hot tub and pool table.
